Potential Landslides This is a weather advisory from Weather.gov/Seattle:

… Heavy rainfall through this evening will lead to an increased threat of landslides in western Washington…

Rainfall over the past couple of weeks has increased soil moisture to moderate levels across western Washington. Heavy rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 2 inches in the interior lowlands and up one to three inches on the coast through this evening is expected to put extra pressure on soil instability, leading to an increased threat of landslides.

For Vashon, new precipitation amounts could be between a quarter and half of an inch.

Landslides have already been reported in various locations in western Washington such as near Hoodsport and in north Seattle. More landslides are possible.
