Storm Advisory Here’s an update for Vashon:

Puget Sound Electric:

At this time, Both Vashon and Maury Islands power is in the process of being restored slowly but surely. The main overlay of the earlier power outage appears to be restored but the underlying outages are still being investigated and repaired one-by-one.

Restoration times are widely varied as there are as many as 2000 customers still without power.

Metro Bus Service Cancelled:

The Metro buses are operating their Emergency Snow Network which means that Routes 116, 118, and 119 on Vashon/Maury will not be running until further notice. Please check their website for updates.

Food Bank Info:

Weekend Emergency Food Bags are available at the Eagles. They have a generator and are open. We want to assure you all that we have contingency plans in place, ready to mobilize if needed come Monday. Stay tuned for updates as weather develops.

Please SHARE.

Please be careful if you must be driving. Road conditions are hazardous.

This is information & tips for PSE customers on Vashon/Maury Islands:

Safety first:

*Never touch or go within 35 feet of downed power lines because they might be energized.

Call PSE at 1-888-225-5773 or 911 to report problems.

*Do not use a charcoal or gas grill to cook indoors. Never use a natural gas range for heating, or charcoal as an indoor heating source. This can cause a buildup of poisonous carbon monoxide gas.

*If you choose to use a portable home generator, read the manufacturer’s instructions for the safe operation of the generator. Do not operate generators indoors or in enclosed spaces to avoid the buildup of carbon monoxide.

*If you’re using portable heaters, keep them away from furniture, draperies and other flammable materials.

*Always use flashlights instead of candles.
