Vashon/Maury Impacts Vashon Schools:

Due to a winter weather advisory and current hazardous road conditions, all VISD schools and activities are canceled on Monday, February 11, 2019.

Metro Busses:

The busses are still running on their Emergency Snow Network, which means that there will be no service on Vashon/Maury Islands for today, Monday, and tomorrow, Tuesday.

Food Bank:

Emergency bags are now available at the Eagles and the Harbor Mercantile in Burton.

Distributions this Wednesday and Thursday will be at the Methodist Church from 10:00 AM-6:00 PM INSTEAD of at the Food Bank. There will be no distributions at the Food Bank this week. People who can’t get to the Church can leave a message on the Food Bank’s Facebook page.– PSE Update:

Crews worked overnight to continue to restore power to customers impacted by the winter storm that moved through the Puget Sound region on Friday and Saturday. As of 5 a.m., power has been restored to approximately 144,000 customers, with approximately 2,600 customers still without power.

PSE knows it’s difficult to be without power, especially with freezing temperatures.

They appreciate your patience as their crews work as quickly and safely as possible to restore power.

PSE crews are out in force today and they’ll stay on the job until power is restored to all customers. As crews finish work in one area, they are assigned to repair damage in another.

The PSE outage map still shows some Island power outages, mostly on the southern portion of the island. Be aware that with another system arriving today, there may be additional outages.
