VOICE OF VASHON REPORTS THIS IMPORTANT MESSAGE
King County is warning of severe weather from today at 5pm until Friday at 9am (and possibly longer). Below are some messages and links for the upcoming freeze.
Below-freezing weather is expected on Vashon, starting this evening. VashonBePrepared is unable to open an overnight shelter at this time, but there are things folks can do to prepare.
Vashon Library will be open until 8pm tonight, and from 10am to 6pm on Thursday.

Severe Weather Shelter Navigation Hotline: (206) 245-1026
Anyone can use this hotline during severe weather activations for information on shelters and navigating to shelter locations. Families with children can call to be connected with a shelter and a ride to that location.
THE WASHINGTON STATE FERRIES HAS THIS ANNOUNCEMENT:
The Fauntleroy/Vashon/Southworth route will run a two-boat schedule with a third, unscheduled boat through Friday, Feb. 13.
On Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 14-15, the route will run it’s regular winter weekend schedule, which is two-boat service.
WSF is working to have another vessel repaired and back in service next week to restore three-boat service on the route. WSF will send updated schedule information as soon as it’s available.
