Rev. Marc Powell is a Catholic priest and pastor of Vashon’s St. John VIanney Parish, where he has served for 5 years.

In his spare time he also writes plays for stage and radio, produces audio documentaries and has helped launch Island Vianney Players, a community theatre troupe that calls St. John Vianney Parish home. The troupe has put on several plays thus far, including an adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s “Exchange” and Yasmina Reza’s “Art.” The troupe’s next show at the church will be David Mamet’s “A Life in The Theatre”.

Fr. Marc is also an actor and sound designer, and will also direct a play or two if he can’t find someone else, anyone else, to do it. He currently contributes to Voice of Vashon Radio with periodic installments of “Hometown Voices”, which showcases local poets, authors and artists and their work.

Other shows he’s done for VoV include radio plays and a pilot episode of “Definitely Not The Mainland”, a story-telling homage to life on Vashon.
