Ferry Line Cameras on VoV-TV

Have you ever wanted to know how long the ferry line is when you’re headed off the Island? Now you can turn on your TV and find out before leaving home. Voice of Vashon’s broadcast on Channel 21 is showing seven different camera views of the ferry lines during morning commuting hours and most afternoons. You must have Comcast Cable to pick up VoV-TV, however.

The cameras show the ferry line both North and South at Bunker Trail, about a city block above the dock.  There are two more cameras another quarter mile above the dock showing the street both North and South near 116th.  There are also two cameras at the Tahlequah dock and another at the Fauntleroy terminal. The picture from each camera is refreshed every five minutes.

The ferry cameras were recently installed by the Washington State Department of Transportation.   The pictures can also be seen on Washington State Ferries’ website, at http://wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/cameras/ and on the Voice of Vashon website by clicking here.  If you have questions about the cameras or Voice of Vashon, you can email them to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or call 463-0301.
