On May 16, 2017, Vashon commemorates a solemn anniversary.
Exactly 75 years earlier, 126 Japanese-American island residents reported to what is
now Ober Park, where they were loaded into military trucks to begin a journey that
would take them to government “internment”camps for up to three years. Their crime:
Being Japanese. Find out about the 75th anniversary ceremony, and about what
