Island Crossroads – IN AND OUT: BEING LGBTQ ON VASHON ISLAND

IN AND OUT: BEING LGBTQ ON VASHON ISLAND.

That’s the title of a powerful exhibit at the Vashon Heritage Museum. It tells the story of a prominent component of the island community, in all its richness and diversity. LGBTQ folk are integrated into all aspects of island life, so much so that the exhibit’s curators say there’s no distinct LGBTQ community on Vashon now. They hope the exhibit will help change that.

Host Eric Pryne talks with curators Ellen Kritzman and Stephen Silha and historian Bruce Haulman, a member of the Heritage Museum Board.

Recorded: June 10, 2019.
