Property taxes on Vashon have gone up 35 percent just since 2016. They’ve jumped even more in some other King County communities. King County Assessor John Wilson, who lives and breathes property taxes, says such increases are unsustainable and unfair, especially for lower-income homeowners. He talks with host Eric Pryne about the intricacies of Washington’s fiendishly complex property-tax system, and what might be done to make it less burdensome.
