When Jeff & Cindy moved to Vashon Island, they left behind a little slice of hidden heaven in Seattle’s north end. Carkeek Park was the only place the Hoyts felt they could live inside the city limits and feel like they were actually living in the country. Now, though, the park has been zoned  for substantial multi-family, village-like development near the park’s edge and Jeff laments the probable loss of one of Seattle’s best-kept secrets.
