PSA ~ Vashon Maury Island Community Council

May 18th, 2021 by VoV

Something kind of important happens on the third Monday of every month on Vashon. That’s when the Vashon Maury Island Community Council holds its monthly meetings, which are, as you might expect, currently virtual because of the lingering pandemic. The Community Council, you see, exists to enable people in the Vashon/Maury community to address important Island issues and advocate for change. Currently issues the Council is addressing include airplane overflight noise, Island light pollution, pedestrian and cyclist safety and policing on the Island. You can even find out the beach etiquette for clamming. So, if there are things that you’d like to change, or even if you’re worried that there’s too much change going on, the VMICC is the place to go. Information on how to join the next meeting is right there on the VMICC web page, vmicc.net. This has been a Voice of Vashon Public Service Announcement, Speak Your Piece Department.
