REALTalk ~ Peter Serko Talks About World AIDS Day

November 27th, 2018 by Susan McCabe

Host Susan McCabe welcomes Peter Serko, creator of the first ever Vashon World AIDS Day 2018 festival.  The celebration – planned to last four days at three island venues – will include a community forum “Learning From AIDS: Stonewall to Border Wall,” an art installation “Lost To AIDS,” a live musical variety show “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” and a staged reading by Drama Dock of “The Normal Heart.”

Peter will also outline an oral history project, “We Remember,” in collaboration with VOV. The project is an opportunity for islanders to share their stories of friends or loved ones lost to AIDS.  Peter will share a few of his AIDS stories from his solo performance, “My Brother Kissed Mark Zuckerberg” and his film “Footnote.”
