Rowing has been my sport of choice for 16 years now. When I first started, I was fascinated by the language and terminology of rowing. I couldn’t help noticing that a well-called race by an aggressive coxswain comes off sounding like either a rowing race or wild sex. This led to the Vashon Island Rowing Club’s first-and-only hit single.
